You can’t always come into my hamster ball…

but there are other ways for me to show you that I love you.  Admittedly, I almost never choose the medium of naked interpretive dance.  Predominantly and very predictably given the nature of this blog, I choose the medium of cloth and yarn.

Thanks nice neighbour T for posting this on Facebook.  Can you hear the odd ‘Back away from my hamster ball!’ from down there?

Interestingly the son came with a hamster ball, the daughter roams free like her father.  She’s easier to woo with craft too:

Another cryptic message
This one is more cryptic.

The Heart Rug pattern is from the Crochet Bible by Sue Whiting which I borrowed from my local library.  It’s lovingly fashioned from stash yarn and features a few minor pattern modifications.  I:

  • replaced the suggested Loop Stitch with a not wholly successful Fur Stitch.
  • added a few rows to the tops of the heart.
  • edged with three rounds of double crochet instead of the suggested one.
A closer look? Of course.

Now, my young man.  Would you like some pyjamas?
