Hot on the heels of making it through my first Sewalong (the soo exiting and rewarding Pyjama Party, yay!), I’m going to attempt Me-Made-May ’12 organised by ‘So, Zo..’. I’ve never tried to wear me-made items for a whole month, I don’t have an enormous wardrobe of self-created clothes and accessories from which to choose so I’m expecting to be challenged. Will I rise to this challenge? Will there be tears and tantrums along the way? Hope not! I will for my own sanity endeavour to be terrible restrained and British about things.
I very much liked the suggestion that we personalise our challenges so here’s my version of the MMM12 pledge:
‘I, pennylibrarian of https://pennylibrarian.wordpress.com sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May ’12. I endeavour to wear or use something that I have made each day for the duration of May 2012. In addition, if I craft anything in May I will try to incorporate a technique that is new to me.’
The first new technique/idea that I have is to try to embellish my self-drafted shift with some of my own crochet creations. The colours that I have chosen are yelling presidential campaign trail at the moment so we’ll see how it works out. Wish me luck, and bonne chance to all the others taking up the MMM12 challenge!
